Runway

25 years

You are looking at a demo

Every figure on screen is sample data — someone else's income, bills and debts. None of it is yours, and nothing here can be edited while the demo is up.

Drag the gold Show dial in the corner and watch twenty-five years of it go past. Click any month in the forecast for a day-by-day breakdown, and try the tabs — the What it costs you one is worth a look.

When you want to see your own figures instead, press Start with my numbers under the dial. Nothing you do here is kept.

Welcome to Runway

Runway takes what you have, what you earn and what you owe, and projects it forward — so you can see whether you are fine or heading for trouble, this month and years out. No bank connection, nothing to log, no receipts to file.

  • Forecast — every month ahead, and any month broken down day by day
  • Debt payoff — ranked by interest rate, and you can change the order
  • What if — price a purchase, in cash or on credit, before you commit
  • What it costs you — what the small everyday habits really add up to
  • Savings goals — the date you actually reach each one

Everything on screen behind this is sample data. Fill in what you know below and it clears, so none of someone else's numbers is left mixed in with yours. Every field starts at its default and the tick clears back to it — type in the ones you know and leave the rest, then add or change anything on the cards later.

Restore to defaults

This replaces everything on this device with the sample ledger. Your income, bills, debts, accounts and goals all go, and there is no undo.

You will be offered the chance to start again with your own balance straight afterwards.

The full version $19 once

You are already using it. This lifts the forecast to fifty years and hands you the three tabs you can currently only read.

One payment, not a subscription. Nothing renews, there is nothing to cancel, and it will not quietly become $9 a month later. You keep the version you bought.

Your figures never leave this browser, paid or not. There is no account to make and nothing is uploaded — buying changes what the app will show you, nothing else.

If money is tight, email hello@runwaymoney.app and I will send you a key. This is a tool for people trying to get out of debt. No explanation needed.

Cash at the end

Income

These figures are the month named, counting only what is still ahead — they match that row in the forecast exactly. Nothing is averaged and nothing is assumed. Your first month will read small, because most of it already happened and is sitting in your bank balance. From the next month it reads in full.

Cash on hand

Checking, savings, PayPal, cash in a drawer — anywhere your money already sits. They add up to the total every forecast starts from.

Transfers

Nothing here yet. Add one for money that moves between your own accounts on a schedule — payday into savings, say.

Money you move to savings is not spending — it never leaves your total, so it does not belong in Bills. Put it here instead and the savings line grows while the forecast stays honest.

Bills & living

Everything you spend belongs here, not just bills — groceries, gas, eating out. Leaving those out makes the forecast wrong in your favour, which is the dangerous direction to be wrong in. For spending with no fixed day, choose spread through month and it lands evenly instead of pretending it all leaves on the 1st.

Buy now, pay later

Nothing here yet. Affirm, Klarna, Afterpay and the rest go here — they are easy to forget because they never feel like debt.

Affirm, Klarna, Afterpay and the rest. They are easy to forget because they never feel like debt — so they get their own box.

Debts

Nothing here yet. Add a card or loan and it will be ranked by interest rate on the Debt payoff tab.

Attack debt with spare cash

Anything above your minimum payments. By default it goes at your highest-interest debt first, then rolls onto the next as each one dies — which is the cheapest order there is. Pick a different one and the payoff tab will tell you exactly what that choice costs.
